On-line Course: Decision Analysis for Climate Change

Have you always wanted to know how to address climate change related concerns and uncertainties using decision analysis?  Do you have a small to moderate scale climate change problem you are working on and wondered if decision analysis can help you solve that problem?  We have the class for you!

 We are pleased to announce our 2014 “Decision Analysis for Climate Change”  class that explores climate change in the context of decision analysis.  This 8-week online course starts the week of January 20th, 2014 and continues through March 12, 2014 and highlights principles from Informing Decisions in a Changing Climate (2009) National Research Council Report.     During this time, you will work in a team on actual decision problems building expertise in climate change impacts and decision analysis.  Participants will also utilize videos that show techniques in structured decision making, adaptive management, climate change.

 As a participant, you must be willing to:

  • dedicate 8-weeks (~5 hours a week) of time to be a part of a team working through a case study.  Time includes individual work consisting of reading, SDM Overview videos, presentation creation, etc
  • want to learn structured decision making while applying that knowledge to a case study in relation to climate change
  • work with a team (lead and participants) through the SDM process while addressing climate change
